Christopher Farms, one of the best neighborhoods in Virginia Beach
A house hunting trip in the southern part of Virginia Beach would not be complete without checking out Christopher Farms, one of my favorite neighborhoods. Developed in the 1990’s, Christopher Farms is new enough that the homes have open floor plans, but old enough that there are mature trees. Treeless lots are one of the biggest complaints that people have with new construction. Not in Christopher Farms! Christopher Farms is a beautiful neighborhood of about 300 homes in Virginia Beach. Nestled away between Holland Road and Princess Anne Road, it is both private and convenient. With mature trees, wide streets, many sidewalks and cul-de-sacs (29 in all!), Christopher Farms is a great family neighborhood. The vast majority of homes in Christopher Farms were built between 1988 and 1998 and are from 2000-3000 square feet.
I took the pictures of Christopher Farms in the slideshow below to give you a taste of the look and feel for what the homes and streets are like in Christopher Farms.
Family Friendly Christopher Farms in Virginia Beach
Christopher Farms is a family neighborhood. Kids play in the streets (when cars aren't coming, of course) and your next best friend for life probably lives here. Is there a better way to spend a Friday evening than with friends on your deck, a cold one in your hand, and your kids playing safely close by? If not, Christopher Farms is the neighborhood for you.
Susan has lived in Christopher Farms for about five years and says, "The new bike trails on Princess Anne now allow us to bike to the farmers market, Landstown Commons, the sports plex/field house, courthouse as well as the Harris Teeter. Lots of residents have recently purchased bikes and family biking has definitely increased as a result of the expansion."

Christopher Farms has its own Facebook page. Check it out here.
Many of the homes in Christopher Farms have been remodeled and come with granite countertops, hardwood floors, and stainless steel appliances. Princess Anne road to the south has been expanded to four lanes which provides easy access to shopping and Holland Road to the north is currently being expanded which will provide even easier access to more shopping and the rest of Virginia Beach. While Christopher Farms feels quiet and peaceful, it is also right in the middle of south Virginia Beach which makes living there very convenient.
The lakes in the middle of Christopher Farms, while man made, are a beautiful addition and help provide a good deal of privacy for those who live in the neighborhood. There are also several green spaces. Let’s not forget about Christopher Farms Elementary School, which is right in the middle of the neighborhood. The neighborhood parents and kids love it. Walking to school is safe and easy and the streets are filled with kids walking home from school. For more information, visit the Christopher Farms Elementary home page.
